Oeps, Rustica kom in DK én chunky én Ultra of Extra! Weer gaan koop. Aangekarring.
Het vandag ‘n SAK VOL wolle gaan koop by Ruby’s in Brooklyn. Skatkis.
Attempting the Vintage Stripe
This blanket started its life as a Vintage Stripe (as seen on Attic 24)...I had a few balls of yarn lying around, practised a bit, and then decided to just go live and DO it. Foundation chaining is hateful. I'd pay someone to do it. Think I started with single stitches. Couple of rows later, it became doubles. I added more colours. I bought more colours. Made heaps of mistakes along the way (but have now mastered the whole V-stitch thing at the end of a row). But I'm buggering on, actually love the look of the blankie, and will just block in into submission :-)
Is die sak vol wol 'n skatkis of Ruby's? Ek dink altwee! As jy se dis 60 cm breed? So mooi. Maar ou kombers lyk so mooi! Doen so voort.
ReplyDeleteHi there Stel,
ReplyDeleteThank you for popping in to my place and dropping a line. I am happy to hear you enjoy my recycling projects as much as I do. It sounds like a great idea you have there on collecting old shirts, bed linens and curtains to make a quilt of for your son. To help you on your quilting adventure I can suggest you to visit Diary of a quilter. She has a fantastic tutorial of how to make a simple baby quilt where she guides you through step by step in the process. She was a great help to me when I made my first quilt last summer. I am still learning, experimenting, failing :( at times but it is a lot of fun. Good luck, and enjoy the blog world as I see this blog is brand spanking new.
Ooooh and I almost forgot... Your vintage blanket is FABULOUS! I love it. It reminds me of a rag rug in the choice of colors and I ADORE rag rugs. This pattern is so easy and soothing. The perfect pattern for crochet in front of the TV. Looking forward to see the blanket in full size when you get there. Happy hooking:D
Thanks, Annette!
