But which one shall I make?

I realised I'm living in total denial about the amount of work to be done before my sisi arrives from Ireland next week, that my boy needs to build a tower structure for school, that I have uncountable WIPS, one of which Must Be Finished when said sisi arrives.

Because instead of doing anything, I'd go the avoidance route and gaze at the yarns in my cabinet, 'specially this one...

So I ignored all calls to responsibility and set about on a Ravelry search for projects in this specific yarn...I opened so many tabs I almost couldn't see them.

I asked the ladies at Ons Hekel what they think I must do...seems nr 3 and 7 are the front-runners!

Mmmm...I  do have plans...since I have more than just the coral...but that's for another day.

An unexpected Malabrigo Friday!

As it sometimes goes, you wake up from a nightmare at 04:00 and after you've dropped the kids at their school, the day is already 4 hours old and you're ready for a nap.  

Too early for that.

So you settle for a great cappuccino and and orange & almond cake for breakfast.

This is my go-to for cappo in the mall.  I practise my very rudimentary, broken French greeting on Kyria and Bastien, and teach them the same in Afrikaans.  Bastien complained that the locals couldn't pronounce his name, so I told him to just say "Basjan" - they'll get it then :-)

Then I had to take a stroll through the bottomless trap that is Exclusive Books and walked out two books the richer...oh, the guilt.

Books is never a bad idea.

But I was actually after mind space, so off to I love Yarn I went, to sit down for a bit of hooking and catching up with Elaine's trip to New York, and Stephni's AfrikaBurn.  Alas, the moment I walked in, I noticed, in the corner , like a moth to a flame, north pole to south pole magnet...

MALABRIGO yarn!

Now that is not something that is easily found in South Africa (see here)  I've previously managed to get my hands on two skeins via my good sis, from a shop in Dublin. And wouldyabelieveit, we meet again!

In seconds I hand four skeins in my hands.  Don't know what I'm going to do with it; but it's soft as a cloud, and in beautiful bright colours!  Scarves/cowls, most likely.

Hier is dit, my Malabrigo supersagte supermooie groenste groenbloue serp!

I know I'm bragging...but I'm just so totally chuffed with myself.

Deur die vakansie het dit gegroei oor lekker koffie by Baruch...

Through the holiday it grew over lovely coffee at Baruch...

...en 'n Israeli bord.
...and an Israeli platter.

En eendag was dit klaar.

And one day it was finished.

On holiday

I am enjoying a holiday by the sea, with my sisi, all the way from Ireland, looking at the full moon over Hartenbos.

Wolle van ver

Dit het begin met hierdie post van Suzanne...waarin 'n foto was van die mooiste mooie wol:

It started with Suzanne's post, with a photo of this loveliest of yarns...

Sjoe.  Dis net van die mooiste kleure denkbaar.  Hé?? En die tekstuur va die draad!

Wow.  How pretty can yarn be. And the texture!

En toe vat ek 'n kans, en gan soek dit bietjie op internet...maar kan dit nie bestel nie  :-(

I took a change on being able to order it online, but no can do :-(

Toe kry ek 'n lys Ierse winkels wat dit aanhou.  En dalk kan my sus dit in Ierland kry en Maartmaand saambring! En sisi moet toevallig vandag in Dublin wees.
EN sy wil 'n draai in die wolwinkel gaan maak...

So I got a list of Irish stores that might stock these.  Maybe my sisi could get me some in Ireland when she comes to visit end of March!  And sis just accidentally had to be in Dublin today.
AND she wouldn't mind to going to a yarn store...

So she walk to the shelf, reach out to a beautiful skein of wool...which is MY COLOUR!

Hierdie ry vandag op die trein van Dublin na Cork, en vlieg einde Maart al die pad na Pretoria :-)

Now these two traveled on the train from Dublin to Cork today, and will fly out all the way to Pretoria at the end of March :-)
